Cleaning your Kokko kamado
Cleaning your Kokko ceramic barbecue is an important step to ensure its longevity.

Ashes should be emptied regularly after cooking to avoid hindering proper air circulation.
Good quality charcoal will always leave less ash than a lower-priced charcoal.

Cleaning your Kokko is really simple. The stainless steel grates are thick and allow for quick cleaning. A stainless steel scouring pad or brush may be recommended for thoroughly cleaning the grates.

The interior ceramic part can be brushed occasionally. However, it is normal for the cream colour ceramic to turn black with use.

The ashes from the Kokko are collected directly in a stainless steel container. Once the charcoal is cold, the ashes can be placed in a trash can.

Inside the Kokko, there is a cast iron plate with many holes to allow air to pass through. Make sure the holes are not blocked. This plate can be cleaned with water and then dried.

The outside of the Kokko is made of tiny ceramic tiles. The ceramic can be cleaned with soapy water and a cloth, or with a special ceramic product.
