Winter Evening around the Kokko

No skiing holidays planned this year? That's no reason to be downhearted. So let's get motivated, pull out our kokko and throw a winter party. From decorations to marshmallows, here are all our ideas to make this winter evening memorable.

1 - We take care of the decoration

To bring back life to your exterior in winter, imagine a pretty and luminous decoration to bring warmth. Candles, lanterns and garlands can be found everywhere. To create a more convivial atmosphere and concentrate the heat, you can also install a small garden arbour to gather underneath.

We are also working on the decoration of the table with natural elements to have the impression of eating in the middle of nature around a campfire, finally there, it will be around the Kokko. If we're short of inspiration, we take up the eco-responsible decorating ideas of our party tables.

2 - Keep warm

At this party, the Kokko will be the star. Both a symbol of conviviality and a way to warm up, we avoid installing heating mushrooms or any other kind of energy-consuming hot air blowers that have no place in this evening. Don't lose sight of the fact that the theme is winter, so don't try to feel like you're in the tropics on a February evening!

Instead, blankets and plaids are placed on the seats and guests are invited to bring their après-skis, down jackets, gloves and hats. What a joy to be able to admire the stars in the middle of winter, lying on a deckchair and wrapped in a big blanket!

3 - We reinvent the raclette, tartiflette and Kokko fondue

An evening outdoors means generous, hearty dishes to keep your body in shape. And what would winter be without raclette, tartiflette or fondue? Emblems of the season, these dishes are certainly a little rich, but they are so good! Thanks to the Kokko, you will impress your guests by preparing a tartiflette with home-made smoked bacon.

You're more of a team raclette guy? Ok, but give it some character by smoking your Kokko cheese to give it an original taste. You can also turn it into a raclette pizza, try making a flammekueche, or, to stay within the generosity of the cheese, prepare a smoked and roasted camembert accompanied by potato and bacon skewers, or melt it for a Mont-d'Or with onions and bacon. Yummy!

Also think about fondue. It is an ideal dish for an aperitif. Place a cast iron pan on the Kokko's grill to keep the cheese warm and invite your guests to take turns dipping their bread in it.

Accompany your dishes with a good glass of mulled wine and finish on a sweet note with flambéed bananas, a caramelized pineapple, a roasted mango or by grilling marshmallows to make you play BBQ à l'américaine!
