Cleaning: a must! When furniture starts to look gray, sometimes even black, stained by grease, wine, weathering etc., there's a simple and extremely effective solution to loosen the wood and, above all, restore its original colour, feel and appearance.
This even applies to very old furniture that has been neglected for years, and which appears to be beyond repair.
The STARBRITE® exotic wood saturator protector is THE solution. The product is effective on all types of exotic and resinous wood. It also removes oil residues that may have been applied previously.
How to apply Nettoyant dégriseur
Lightly dampen the surface to be treated, or spread pure Cleaner Degreaser on dry wood if it is very dirty and grey.
Leave for 1-2 minutes, making sure the product doesn't dry out, then rub in with a stainless steel wool.
This operation is very messy. Rinse well with plenty of water to completely remove the product from the treated surface.
Allow to dry thoroughly.
Repeat the operation if necessary, or on stained areas.
Wait until the wood is PERFECTLY DRY before applying Starbrite Protector.
Safety precautions: protect metal or painted parts in the vicinity of the items to be treated.
Recommended tools :
Stainless steel steel wool or hard-bristle hand brush.
How to apply Starbrite Wood Potector
Once the wood is perfectly dry, the grain open and free of any dirt or wood dust, you can apply the exotic wood saturator protector.
Shake or stir can well before use.
Work in small sections, taking care to " pull " the Saturator Protector , applying as little product as possible.
Effectiveness and durability depend on Starbrite' s Protector/Saturator being properly impregnated into the wood fibres. The Protector/Saturator dries to the touch in about 30 minutes at an average ambient temperature of 18/20°C. If this is not the case, remove excess product with a cloth.
Protect furniture from rain for 24 hours to allow Protector to fully cure.
Recommended tools :
disposable foam brushes or clean cotton cloth.
Advice
Put your chairs, armchairs, benches and other accessories under cover during the winter. They will only require maintenance every 3 years on average.
You'll only have to redo the tabletop once a year - that's a maximum of one hour's work! Avoid covering your tabletop without ventilation to avoid the risk of mildew.
A good quality piece of furniture is designed to remain outdoors all year round.
