Cleaning and renovating a dirty, discolored terrace
Cleaning, renovating and protecting a dirty, discolored deck are key to ensuring that your deck has a long life and always looks its best.
After a few months or a few years, we often notice a discoloration of the boards. Starbrite Composite Wood Protector is the best way to regenerate the color of composite boards.
Cleaning
It's essential to clean your terrace from time to time to keep it in good condition and prevent it from becoming slippery over time. For heavily soiled decks that have not been maintained for several months, or to remove stubborn, ingrained stains, use a powerful product that can act locally or over the entire surface.
Application of the Cleaner according to the terrace
1. For a regularly maintained or lightly soiled terrace
Use Starbrite Starbrite® Composite Wood Cleaner Biodegradable, highly concentrated product. Mix one dose of Composite Wood Cleaner in a bucket of preferably warm water, spread the product over the surface, leave to act for 5-10 minutes (without letting the product dry!), then scrub with a stiff-bristled broom or high-pressure cleaner (15 bar maximum) and rinse thoroughly. Leave to dry and repeat the operation if the result is unsatisfactory, doubling the dosage if necessary.
2. For heavily soiled decks and encrusted stains
Use Starbrite Starbrite® Composite Wood Cleaner Biodegradable product. Dilute one part composite wood cleaner to approximately 5 parts water, depending on how dirty the surface is. Spread the product, leave to act for 5 to 7 minutes, then scrub with a stiff broom or high-pressure cleaner (15 bar maximum). Allow to dry and repeat the operation if the result is unsatisfactory, increasing the dosage if necessary.
3. For removal of difficult local stains:
Apply Starbrite® Composite Wood Cleaner directly on the stain. Leave for 5 to 10 minutes maximum. Scrub lightly with a hand brush and rinse thoroughly. Repeat the operation as necessary until the stain has disappeared, checking each time for discoloration.

Terrace protection
Once the deck has been thoroughly cleaned, it's time to protect the wood composite boards. For this, use Starbrite Composite Wood Protector. By following the product's application instructions, your deck will stand the test of time.
When the Protector is applied, the tone of the composite board or slab will darken slightly to take on a "wet wood" appearance, as it would naturally after a rinse or a shower.
Apply ONE VERY THIN COAT of Protector, preferably using a wide brush.
Allow to dry for 1 to 2 hours, depending on ambient temperature. Full polymerization takes 24 hours.
If the first brushstrokes produce streaks and the protection is uneven and doesn't grip well, it' s best to clean again before application.
Do not apply in high heat or direct sunlight. Protector is touch-dry in about 30 minutes and fully cures in 24 hours.
