Winter evening around the Kokko

Winter evening around the Kokko

No ski holidays planned this year? That's no reason to get down. So, let's get motivated, get out our Kokko, and organise a winter evening. From decorations to marshmallows, here are all our ideas to make this winter evening memorable.

1 - Take care of the decorations

To bring your outdoor space back to life in winter, imagine some pretty illuminated decorations to bring warmth. Place candles, lanterns, and fairy lights all around. To create a more convivial atmosphere and concentrate the heat, you can also set up a small garden gazebo to gather under.

We're also working on decorating the table with natural elements to give the impression of eating in the middle of nature around a campfire, or at least around the Kokko.

2 - Keep warm

During this evening, the Kokko will be the star. Both a symbol of conviviality and a way to warm up, avoid installing heating mushrooms or any other kind of energy-intensive hot air blowers that have no place in this evening. Don't forget that the theme is winter, we're not trying to feel like we're in the tropics on a February evening!

Instead, set up some blankets and throws on the seats and invite your guests to bring their après-ski gear, down jackets, gloves, and hats. What a joy to be able to admire the stars in the middle of winter, lying on a deckchair and wrapped up in a big blanket!

3 - Reinvent raclette, tartiflette and fondue on the Kokko

An outdoor evening calls for generous and hearty dishes to keep you going. And what would winter be without raclette, tartiflette or fondue? Emblems of the season, these dishes are certainly a little rich, but they are so good! Thanks to Kokko, you'll amaze your guests by preparing a tartiflette with home-smoked bacon.

Are you more of a raclette person? Okay, but give it some character by smoking your cheese on the Kokko to give it an original taste. You can also turn it into a raclette pizza, try making a flammekueche, or, to stay with the generosity of cheese, prepare a smoked camembert and roasted served withpotato and bacon skewers, or even, melt for a Mont-d’Or with onions and bacon. Yum!

Fondue with friends

Also think about fondue. It's an ideal dish for a cocktail dinner. Place a cast iron pot on the Kokko grill to keep the cheese warm and invite your guests to dip their bread in it in turn.

Pair your dishes with a glass of mulled wine, and finish on a sweet note with flambéed bananas. flambéed bananas, caramelised pineapple, roasted mango or roast marshmallows for an American-style BBQ!
